The menu and interior photos online gave a misleading impression of what we found. The meal itself was a letdown: orders were missed, the beer arrived warm, and the fries were very poor. The goulash was so spicy that even my father, who usually likes that sort of food, couldn't eat it. I regret paying even half the original price. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and things improve for future customers. Pavel Cerny

The woman at reception had very poor language skills and a terrible attitude. We felt no care from the hotel at all, and the welcome was the most hostile we've ever experienced. It's a shame, because the hotel needs renovation and better ownership, and this could bring it down. Never again.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and nice, the location was good, and the view was amazing. Staff were kind and friendly, and the owner/manager was especially helpful. Dinner was delicious, clearly made with care, and the menu was available in Czech and German. Breakfast was fresh and continental. Seeing Prosecco on the drinks table was unusual, more like something at a beach resort, but a nice idea. Card payment was possible, too. We were recommended this hotel by Hotel Orlik nearby.

Breakfast was already running low by 9, and anyone arriving later was left with scraps. Staff were rude and wouldn't replace things when asked, saying they had run out. Checkout is at 10, right when breakfast ends, and there's no room to negotiate. For this price, close to what you'd pay for a four-star hotel or a castle apartment, that felt especially frustrating. The rooms are tiny, with no table or shelf, even in the bathroom, no fridge or chair, and nowhere to put your things except the floor. There's one kettle for the whole hotel, so don't count on making a hot drink in your room, and laundry isn't available. The walls are described as soundproof on booking, but they're among the thinnest I've encountered. You can hear neighbors snore or take a step, even in the corridor. Opposite Zameček there's a really good restaurant, highly recommended. The restaurant at Zameček is always empty. For anyone expecting a decent stay from somewhere called Zameček, this is a total disappointment.
