Hotel Lidový Dum

I had a hard time making up my mind about this place. The wine tasting in the cellar was a great experience, and the food we paid for with our stay was amazing, especially dinner. Our room was nice and had comfortable beds and everything you'd expect, though nothing particularly special. The staff were friendly, including the waitresses, who were very accommodating. The service itself was chaotic. They forgot our order more than once or twice, and sometimes explained things in a slightly odd way. I understand people get tired in the evenings, so I didn't hold that against them too much. It was also confusing that some things could only be ordered in the hotel pub and others only in the restaurant. My biggest problem was the room facing a busy road, with cars going by from early morning. I couldn't sleep at all after four AM. I know the hotel can't really do much about the road, though. Despite the issues, it was still a nice experience.

My now-wife and I held our wedding reception here, and the service blew us away. Everyone working that day took care of everything, and we're so grateful to them. The food was excellent too. I can't speak for other places in Bzenec, but we had a superb experience here. Now it's our go-to for a fancier dinner nearby.

Breakfast was basic, but acceptable. The restaurant is a good option for dinner, though it closes at 10 p.m., so it's best to order before 9. Parking in front of the hotel is free. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff are very kind and helpful. I'd definitely recommend staying here in Bzenec.

The rooms are clean, and it's a nice hotel. WiFi in the dormitory could be better. The router is on the ground floor, while the dorm is tucked away in the far corner of the hotel.
