We chose this hotel because of its glowing reviews. The owners clearly care about architecture and design, and the spacious room beneath a high ceiling, with its comfortable bed, felt right for a boutique hotel. The owners were away, but the employee looking after us was courteous and very nice. Breakfast was very good, with local ingredients and eggs made to order. Our first evening's dinner was tasty, just one course, and cost 21 Eur per person. We were told the owner cooks even when only two guests are interested, so it was odd that dinner wasn't offered the second night because there weren't enough interested guests. Ice cream afterward wasn't included in the price, which would have been good to know beforehand. The wine selection is good, though rather expensive: both bottles we bought had a markup of more than 100% over the producer's price. The detail that bothered me most was paying 1.7 Eur for a small capsule-machine coffee that I had to make myself. After paying 250 Eur a night, I'd gladly pay for a good coffee made and served by someone, but this felt different. Maybe my 3.5/5 sounds harsh, but this isn't an 80 Eur-a-night, 2-star hotel, and details matter at this level. I appreciate the owners' work on the design and wish them and the staff many happy customers.

Coming here feels like being at home. They look after you and whatever you need, and the service is always great. The food is delicious, too. My room was unusually cozy and clean, with big windows. I can't wait to come back.

This small hotel manages to give you privacy while still making it easy to spend time with the hosts and other guests if you feel like it. The design and original details are wonderful, and the food uses local ingredients. The whole experience feels world class and is unusual for this part of the country. I highly recommend it.

A truly relaxing, inspiring break. The garden is lovely, the food is great, and the service is wonderful. I loved the minimalist look, with so much care put into every detail.
