Hotel Clochard

The cleaning lady was very helpful, as were the reception staff, and there are private parking spaces. The room was quite spacious and the bathroom more than adequate. Breakfast was just so-so, though I was surprised it was included in the price at all. For a hotel in such a small town, I don’t have much to complain about, and I’d come back.

The final straw came after checkout, when I asked to sit in the lobby for an hour. They said no because they had to prepare something and close it. The room itself was the smallest one, with a cramped bathroom, no soap, and just one small towel that I had to ask for. The bed was awful, with every spring noticeable. Breakfast runs until 10 AM, but by 9 there were no scrambled eggs or omelette left. I’ve stayed in about 15 hotels around the Czech Republic over the last three months, and this was by far the worst. I normally avoid bad reviews, but this experience pushed me to write one. The place is listed as “Art Hotel” on Booking.com, but it’s the same hotel. Rebranding won’t help while the service is this poor. I strongly recommend against staying here.

We couldn’t pay by card, only cash, and the room looked different from the photos. The bed was broken and made a horrible noise. When we told the young lady, she said we didn’t have to sleep in that bed, then said she didn’t know what to do because we said we needed it. We left and didn’t come back. The whole experience was horrible.

The staff were very friendly, and that’s the reason for the third star. The bed was a disaster. Every night I woke up with the springs poking into me. When I asked for the room to be cleaned, they made the bed and put supposedly clean towels on it. After my shower, I found a big brown stain about the size of a face on one towel. The bathroom sink and shower were never cleaned, either, and there was toothpaste left by the previous guest in the sink. Breakfast was okay-ish.
