Středověký hotel Dětenice

The town itself doesn't have much to do, so come for the hotel's activities: the tournament, castle tour, and dinner with a show. I love the place, but it's definitely not for everyone. The staff are deliberately rude to fit the atmosphere. If you can go along with that and the limited facilities, including a medieval-themed bathroom, you'll have a great time immersed in the medieval experience. But if you want pampering and state-of-the-art facilities, this place isn't for you.

The half-and-half beer, a mix of light and dark, was delicious. We paid for dinner with the show, though it seemed like you had to have the show next to you and pay extra for it even if you didn't want to watch. We left early because we had things to do 😂 I love this place, but the crowds brought my rating down to four. It's probably busy because it's amazing, but I'm not much of a crowd person. I absolutely recommend it if you're after something different and unique.

The room speakers sounded like they needed repair, which was a downside. And be ready for the toilet if you stay here, it's very true to old-time toilets 🤣 A great place to step back in time, with fantastic actors, a lovely atmosphere, and great design.

The room was awesome and the style felt really authentic. But a staff member shouted at me for leaving the front door open on a warm September day. I said, "Yes, one second," and she screamed, "NOW!" Oddly, the door stayed open all day anyway. I worked in hospitality for a while, and I would've been fired straight away for treating a guest or customer like that. If you don't speak Czech, everything gets really complicated and it's hard to understand what's going on, the medieval show for example. I can't really recommend it.
