Penzion Folbr

The rooms are spacious and simple, but comfortable, and breakfast was good quality. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, which was a real highlight.

Fine.

Great.

The sunrise from the balcony was magical, and it was so quiet at night that you could see stars and even constellations you don't usually spot around 3-4 in the morning. The rooms are clean and smell fresh, the outdoor areas are tidy, and the owners, especially the lady, are kind, helpful and attentive. We came as a group with dogs and had a lovely stay. Pets are allowed, there's space to walk, and a bin by the entrance bench for cigarette ends or dog mess. Parking is right outside and big enough. It's a village setting, so you have to be fine with sheep and cats wandering around and wisteria dropping leaves near some balconies. The guesthouse doesn't serve breakfast, but there's a fridge in the room, several restaurants nearby, and bigger towns with shops, pubs and cafes about 10-15 minutes away by car. I didn't try the TV, but when there's a problem the lady is happy to come and help. Wifi works, hot water comes through almost straight away, and I really liked the firmer mattresses. The wooden wardrobe and table were attractive details. There are curtains but no insect screens, so if mosquitoes bother you in summer, pack a plug-in Raid. I take one on trips like this anyway. The price for what you get is a five-star deal. If our hunt goes well, we'll gladly come back next year.
