I did enjoy the beer and the setting, which is why my Czech partner brought me here. But trying to pay turned into a miserable experience. When she stepped away, the waiter spoke to me in Czech. I politely said, with the few words I know, that I wanted to pay by card. He kept speaking Czech, looking unhappy, so I apologized and asked for English. He seemed completely bothered, then walked off talking irritably with another waiter while I stood there confused. Once my partner returned, I explained what had happened. The waiter came back and, without a friendly word or explanation, announced a price she agreed to. It seemed to come from nowhere and he hadn't discussed it with anyone, but she didn't want to waste more time dealing with his attitude. Was he having a bad day, being racist, or just greedy? Take your pick. We shouldn't be treated badly for not speaking the local language. I'd give more stars for the beer and the place itself, but they should be ashamed to have someone with that attitude representing their bar and restaurant service. Sad I can't give zero.

The goulash was the most mediocre I've ever had. The sauce tasted like it might have come straight from a can. The food was pretty lame, which is a shame given how nice the little village and restaurant look. Even worse, there was no soap in either the men's or women's bathroom. I told the waitress, and 30 minutes later neither restroom had any. How are the cooks and staff washing their hands? Two people in our party got food poisoning right after eating there. Disgusting.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had some great meals for dinner. There was a very good selection of beers too. Our room was a little old, but it was clean and a nice place to stay. Breakfast was modest, though fresh and really tasty.

The internet was bad, and music from the bar kept playing through the night, so sleeping meant wearing earbuds. The bar staff were very rude. I wouldn't recommend it.
