Habánský dům

We came back for a second stay with a group of seven and had a great time. It’s a good area for cycling, and there’s a food shop a short distance away. They have draft beer, good wine, a grill and a pool. The upper floor gets terribly hot, though the room does have air conditioning. We’d gladly come back again.

The host was wonderful and brought out some of the region’s best wines from his cellar. Palava was my favorite. The rooms and apartments are great, and the garden and kitchen have everything needed to prepare meals. I’d like to go back in six months, in May.

We booked based on reviews from the previous operator, expecting a clean pool, refreshments and a café with a roasting room. Under the new operator, the Partyja company belonging to the Student Agency, Mr. Jančurys, things have got worse. The pool was cloudy and milky, the café and refreshments were closed, and the lawns hadn’t been mowed. Also, the guesthouse has no parking. You have to find a space in the surrounding area, with the risk of pallbearers’ coffins and other things being stolen.

The toilet was freezing, even with the heating turned all the way up, apparently since Friday. The room itself was quite cold too, so it would help to turn the heat on well before guests arrive. The bed creaked a lot, and there weren’t any bedside tables for putting personal things on.
