The closed private parking was a plus, and the pool probably would be nice in warm weather. Still, with the price we paid, I expected better service and better rooms. The bed linen was clean and breakfast was good, and the owner was nice at times, but not always so nice to us. Booking let me reserve for five people, then I had to pay extra for one more on arrival. I can’t tell if that was Booking’s mistake or the accommodation provider’s, since the listed parameters are there. At least the extra bed wasn’t a problem. For the same money we’ve stayed several times in Austria in much better rooms and surroundings. The bathroom shower screen didn’t work, and the hooks for towels and clothes came unstuck. When we hung the towels provided, everything, hooks included, fell on the floor. Someone had mentioned that the electrics were from the 80s, and I can confirm that even after four years nothing has changed. It feels like the owner isn’t putting the money earned back into improving the place. Overall, it was as if time had stopped here. We usually sleep with the window open, but that wasn’t really possible because of the nearby main road noise.

We booked rooms for my family and got completely different ones, then had to pay extra. The experience was terrible from the start, and we were treated like garbage. The food was awful and we had to figure everything out ourselves. We were also charged extra for the pool because water splashed out while we were swimming. Breakfast was another thing entirely. People from the neighborhood kept coming there just to get drunk. It was stressful and deeply disappointing, not a vacation. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially to families.

The large terrace and nice pool are among the many good things at Buchmann pension, which is well equipped for individuals and couples. It offers a pleasant setting for all kinds of people, and the price feels right for the quality. The owner is a smiling, pleasant gentleman who tries to help with everything, so you feel comfortable there. If you’re looking for a nice place to stay in Františkové Lázně, I’d recommend it. Thanks to the Buchmanns for a wonderful weekend 👍👍👍👍👍 😁😁😁😁

The host was friendly, but I wouldn’t take one of the attic rooms, even for €45. Every room door has the same bartack lock, so you can open the door to the next room too. That wasn’t acceptable in 2018. The electrical standards also seem to be from the 80s. They should update things and change some of it.

There’s a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere, with friendly staff. It’s a clean, well-run guesthouse that offers spa treatments, and a dental practice is planned for the future.
