Check-in requires going to the neighboring Podhrad hotel, but there are no signs explaining that, and nobody answered the phone number listed on the website. We also tried to book dinner by phone without getting through. When we went to the restaurant anyway, there were empty tables, but we were told they were reserved and turned away, even though we were staying there. The location is picturesque, close to Hluboká Castle, and the residence itself is a modern project with historic charm. Rooms are basic and all on the first floor. Breakfast was plentiful and classic. Parking in the courtyard costs extra, and you have to drive around the hotel to reach it. The way in is narrow, so watch the traffic lights.

The pool, sauna, jacuzzi and other shared spaces were kept nicely tidy, and the rooms are fairly quiet thanks to the soundproofing. Room cleaning and general cleanliness were only average, though the older furnishings were maintained. I liked the local restaurant and brewery, the setting is pleasant and the cooking is good, while service is average. Prices are mid-range and fair for the quality and location.

The building is historic and sits right beneath Hluboká Castle. The room was clean and basically functional, with facilities in line with this accommodation category. The bathtub drain was the one issue, as it was slow. Breakfast at the neighboring Podhrad hotel was above standard, with a broad choice of dishes and frequent refills.

We spent a few days here with the kids and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and charm. The accommodation, wellness centre and excellent breakfast all suited us well. Hotel parking is available for 200 CZK a night, or you can park free about 100 metres away.

The reception is in the annex and open from 6:30-23:00. Rooms were spacious, clean and serviced daily, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. You can pay to park in the courtyard or in front of the hotel, with free parking around 100 metres away.
