The common room has plenty to keep both kids and adults entertained. The accommodation and service were excellent, and I'll drop in again next time I'm passing through.

The service was warm and helpful, and they were quite sociable too. The owner is a masterful chess player, and they were happy to suggest trips. My boyfriend and I were pretty undemanding guests, so we had a really enjoyable stay. We visited in July, and although you can also stay in winter, the summer setting suited us. The reservoir and local walks are beautiful, though getting to places like Lysá Hora or Rožnov means driving. Our room was clean, tidy and cozy, with the trash taken out and the duvets made. I didn't see any spiders or mold, despite what some reviews say. The furnishings aren't the newest, and perhaps the windows could use replacing, but the room was more than adequate for sleeping. We came to hike, after all, not spend all day in bed. We had half board, since full board isn't available yet. Dinner came with soup, and breakfast was so generous that even a small eater could have enough left for lunch. The food was genuinely excellent, almost restaurant quality. I saw people call the kitchen like a school cafeteria, and honestly, I envy the schools they must have eaten at! The owner asked each morning if we wanted coffee. It's classic Nescafe, so the claim that they don't make coffee at all isn't true. There's also a small fridge in the common room, along with a pool table and lots of books. I recommend half board, especially for families. The website mentions benefits for children, and they can make a child's portion too, which you don't find everywhere. We spent one night here in July. An older gentleman welcomed us in, friendly enough, but he had a cigarette and the smoke was noticeable throughout the building, including the restaurant. We're not a fussy couple, so the room itself was acceptable, though the bathroom was rougher. The toilet was loose and there was residue in the shower stall. A little Sava and some silicone would probably sort it out. Dinner was a disaster: it looked unappealing and had no seasoning. I really can't recommend it. That meal dragged down our impression of the whole stay, and I know I won't be back.

The worst place I've ever stayed. Take it all in stride. Brrrr, ugh, tajksl.
