Rezidence Věstonice

We were very happy here, thank you! The guesthouse was beautiful, clean, and smelled fresh, and the owner was really pleasant. We enjoyed the excellent wines in the cellar and in the orchard, where the owners offered us a tasting. The fresh eggs were a lovely surprise. I recommend it.

We couldn’t have picked a better place, and we’ll definitely come back. The village and surrounding area have plenty of wine cellars and restaurants, plus direct bus links to nearby villages, Lednice, and Mikulov. It’s also a great base for cycling and hiking. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Ours was No. 7 and had no terrace, but we didn’t mind at all because there was a nice place to sit by the pool. The bed was comfortable, and we appreciated having one mattress since this is mainly a place for couples. The owners were lovely and helped whenever we needed anything. They even gave us apricots from the garden and a delicious apricot cake. The pool was clean and pleasantly warm, perfect for cooling off after a day of cycling or hiking. We’d read earlier reviews and brought earplugs. With the windows open, the neighbors’ birdsong didn’t bother us at night.

We were very satisfied with this quiet place. The guests were polite and nice, and nobody was shouting or making a racket at night. The communication from the very start was professional, quick, and helpful, and the owners were happy to arrange anything we found missing. The accommodation was clean and practically furnished, and the pool was spotless with just the right warmth. We also got homemade eggs during our stay. At first, the birds were a bit much for me, with the neighbors’ birds and the hens clucking next door, but I got used to it. The church bells ring every 15 minutes, which was handy for keeping track of the time. They stop at night, so sleeping was peaceful. One thing we found impractical was the bed. The mattress is quite soft and all in one piece, so when your partner moves, you feel it like being in a stroller. I understand that some people prefer one mattress and don’t want a gap in the middle. A warning for future guests: watch out for bird droppings on cars in strong sun and clean them off quickly. We went through a car wash after getting home, and the paint came off in three places on the roof, not just the top layer. Now we’ll have to get the roof repainted, which is really upsetting on a six-month-old car. :-)
