Fidler Cottage

We had a lovely New Year here. The only thing we missed was blinds on the rear windows.

We keep coming back because this makes such a good starting point for walks in nature. The house feels cozy, with tasteful decor that’s unusual in the Czech Republic, and the owner is always adding to or improving the equipment. There’s air conditioning for hot weather, and the kitchen has everything needed for cooking since Žebráky doesn’t have anywhere to eat out. Firewood for the fireplace is included in the price. The mattresses are softer than we like, though we know that comes down to personal preference. Arrangements are easy and straightforward. It’s a comfortable, nicely furnished base for a couple looking to explore the area.

The cottage has been newly renovated and is equipped above standard, with a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, and fireplace. It was a very pleasant stay in peaceful surroundings. A car is a good idea: there’s no public transport connection at all on Saturdays and Sundays, and service is very limited during the week. In mushroom season, you can pick mushrooms like champignons and right-handed mushrooms directly nearby.

We had a lovely stay in this little holiday apartment. I’d highly recommend it. :)
