A quirky and interesting stay, with plenty of privacy and a beautiful, cozy feel. The owner was friendly, answered questions quickly, and helped sort out small problems. The center is just around the corner. We had a massage function in the bathtub, a sauna, capsule coffee, and sparkling wine included. A few downsides: parking nearby is paid. I suggest trying Vojanova or H. Kvapilova streets, where there were usually a few spots and it's not too far. The air purifier runs constantly, but the air still gets stale quickly, so you have to leave the entrance door open to ventilate. There are lockable doors behind it, so it isn't too bad. Some ceilings are really low. I got a bump on my head, and people of medium or tall height will have to keep crouching. We couldn't turn off the heating, which isn't ideal in warmer months. With no windows or daylight, mornings can be confusing. Without a watch, you can't tell if it's four in the morning or the afternoon. A few bugs and ants occasionally make their way inside. The dial on the second door doesn't register finger touches well, though you can unlock it with your phone or chip.

The basement apartment is cozy and pleasant despite being unconventional, and comfortably spacious for two. We had complete privacy and peace, and seamless Wi-Fi throughout. Check-in is through an app on your phone; you enter through the yard using the app or a numeric code. You won't see anyone, and no one will see you. Downstairs, there is a massage tub, sauna, relaxation lounger, and a large, comfortable bed. There is also a coffee maker, small fridge, microwave, kettle, hot and cold water dispenser, fan, and air purifier. People around 2 m tall may have trouble with the low ceilings, and without windows you can't tell night from day. You can't park right at the basement, but after unloading our luggage we had no trouble leaving the car in a 10-minute parking lot. I'd highly recommend the stay, ideally for at least two nights.

A thoughtful idea, carried out with care. It's an unconventional place to stay in central Znojmo, and we recommend it if you want to slow down and relax undisturbed. The musty smell came and went; with a building like this, it may be hard to prevent completely, though perhaps fragrant oils would help. There was some confusion when we picked up the building-door key, but we managed in the end. Make sure you know the cellar entry code only works from exactly 3 p.m.; trying it at 3:15 isn't a good idea. The main downside is that there's no separate shower. It's awkward if one person wants to relax in the bath while the other uses the sauna. Instructions for the sauna would also be useful.

Everything worked as it should, and it was cozier and cleaner than we expected. You have to choose between using the sauna with cold bath water or having a hot bubble bath without the sauna. Or stay a few nights and alternate. Thanks for a great experience.
