The host was very friendly, and the rooms were clean with enough space for two people in the rooms meant for three or four. The pillows were awful, though. There’s no dinner at the hotel since the restaurant only serves breakfast. If you book through Booking, breakfast costs extra. We thought breakfast was OK, but nothing more.

There’s a small private parking area, and grocery stores plus a market with restaurants are close by. The guesthouse is clean and warm, though the Gierek-Caucescu-style décor does little for its charm. It works well for a weekend of skiing or hiking in the area if you’d rather not pay resort guesthouse prices.

During our three days there, nobody cleaned the room. The breakfast was meager, with just a small choice of cold cuts and cheese, rolls, and yogurt. The room facing the street was very noisy, and it was dark and uncomfortable because there weren’t enough bulbs. The small, cramped bathroom had only soap for toiletries, and the toilet and shower were awkwardly placed in the room. A very basic hotel, suitable for one night.
