Penzion Alka

We felt at home during our few days here. The rooms were warm, cozy, clean, and spacious, and the staff were always friendly and ready to help. Free parking right beside the hotel was very convenient, and there was a supermarket nearby for anything we needed. We were completely happy with our stay and will definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

We were very satisfied with the accommodation. The staff were helpful, everything was clean, and having a kitchen was great. Nothing to complain about. Zdenka Znojmo👍👍

This place is just about acceptable. It won't impress you, but if you're not fussy, you can manage here. The good points were the easy walk to the center and Albert market, and generally good, helpful communication, apart from the trouble with payment paperwork. There were several issues in the room: the TV set-top box kept losing power and only worked in a very precise position. A man spent about an hour trying to fix it without success. One drawer looked uninviting, and I found a medicine blister pack inside. For the whole week there was just one small hotel soap, with no liquid bath soap. The hob instructions were missing and one segment was defective. The water was barely lukewarm on the first day. Getting proof of payment from the owner was a big problem. He wanted over 8,000 CZK in cash without a receipt. When I wouldn't hand over that much without proof, he eventually wrote on a small notepad sheet that he'd received the money, but didn't add a stamp or signature. Noise from the nearby industrial area, probably a collection yard, could also be disturbing in the morning.

The building's renovation was very tasteless, and the bed linen looked like it came from a Polish market. Our room faced a courtyard with scrap metal containers, so that wasn't a nice view. Still, everything was clean, the receptionist was lovely, and we slept well. The kettle and Nescafe in the room earned an extra half star.
