Small Chateau Hotel Kaplice

We had a really good stay and would’ve stayed longer if we’d known. The hosts were friendly, the food was very nice, and our room was clean and tidy. The internet was okay, and they were working on improving it. We only spent four nights here, but we’ll definitely come back one day. Thank you, Freddie and Saskia.

I wish I’d had more time here. The hotel sits by the Malše with woods all around, so it feels made for a quiet break. Leave the window open and birdsong may wake you early. There are only one or two marked trails right by the hotel, but a short drive toward Kaplice or the Soběnovská vrchovina gives you more options. I was just passing through on my way to Austria and stayed at this small family-run hotel. The owners are Dutch, but Czech is also spoken. The rooms are simply furnished, clean, and have good beds. The owners are so warm that you feel at home straight away. Mobile reception can be weak, especially inside the hotel. I noticed this with T-Mobile and O2; I can’t say about Vodafone. If you need internet for work, an external modem with an extra antenna would be a good idea.
