Hotel Palacký

Its location directly on the colonnade is a real plus, but parking is very difficult and expensive. The hotel is officially rated four stars, yet the rooms, breakfast, and reception felt like three stars at most.

The staff were very nice and kind, and the hotel isn’t expensive. Our room was basic but clean, with a large wardrobe, a wonderful columned balcony, and comfortable mattresses. Breakfast was simple, but there was enough, and the scrambled eggs were especially good. I did miss a larger mirror in the room, and the balcony chair could have been something other than plastic. We hope things keep developing and that it’s even better next time we visit 😊

I especially enjoyed the onsite restaurant. The food was delicious and tasty, and the place was cozy.

The heating was fixed only late at night, after hours of excuses and repeated complaints. When we arrived at this 4-star hotel in Karlovy Vary, there was no hot water and the heating didn’t work. I told the receptionist at 11:30 AM, but nothing had been done by the time we got back that evening. Communication was nearly impossible because she spoke no English, which is unacceptable in a popular tourist destination. She seemed completely unprofessional, wandering around all day with a vape machine, moaning, and appearing intoxicated or disoriented. Even once the heating was fixed, our room stayed freezing. It was also filthy, with blood on one sheet and dirt behind the furniture. This doesn’t meet the standard of a 4-star establishment. I would avoid it at all costs. For upper management: I mean the receptionist working on Thursday, the 5th of December. Her behavior was completely unacceptable. It would also be highly recommended to check rooms before letting guests in.
