I really enjoyed my two nights here, and they managed to fit me in even though I arrived without a booking. The location is great, halfway up a lovely street full of interesting shops, restaurants, cafes, and small attractions like museums and a butterfly sanctuary. My room was cozy and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was pleasant and pretty standard: fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread, pastries and cake, cheese, ham, salami, juice, and coffee, with scrambled or fried eggs available to order. I didn't talk to the staff much, but they were friendly and helpful despite a bit of a language barrier. The one hard-to-ignore issue was a bad smell in the bathroom. I left its door open when I went out on the first day, and the whole bedroom smelled awful when I got back. I didn't tell the staff, so they had no chance to fix it or move me. I also noticed the smell elsewhere in town, so maybe there's a town-wide problem, possibly with the sewer system. Keeping the bathroom door shut made it manageable.

We stopped for lunch on the way back from the castle because the menu looked appealing and there were quite a few diners. The food was good, prices were reasonable, and service was quick. Having an English menu was helpful for us as tourists. I'd definitely recommend the restaurant.

The cashier charged himself a 10% tip without asking me. He said the total was 375 CZK and kept the card reader screen hidden from me. I'm in touch with my bank.

We had a very enjoyable lunch here yesterday. The service was good, and the food was too. The views of Karlstejn Castle are beautiful, and the pancakes with ice cream were outstanding.

We didn't stay overnight, just had lunch after coming back from the Castle. The food was good and the portions were fine. The staff don't speak much English, but we managed to understand each other and even have a little joke. When we lost our wallet, they tried every way they could to help. We found it in the end, and appreciated that they cared. I'd recommend the place and come back.
