A miserable example of Czech hospitality. The staff seemed annoyed and unwilling to help with problems, and there was an extra charge for everything. The guesthouse isn’t equipped for a large group: there were only two working hotplates for 47 people, the kitchen equipment was very poor, and the fridge didn’t work. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We rented the whole cottage for our larger group of eight families, and we were happy with our stay. Everything was fine.

We still enjoyed our stay with friends, as we do every year, but we’ll choose a place we’ve already tried for next year. Given the prices, we expected the building and service to be in top condition. The company management should think about what guests are getting for the money. Charging the full rate for every guest, including babies only a few weeks or months old, felt outrageous when no service was provided. Baby food cost an extra 200 CZK per night, and there was only one high chair. Energy and all sorts of extras were charged separately, including tap, grill, cot, dog, and the children’s football field. The kitchen was in poor shape for a group of 45: just one large working fridge with two shelves, two mini-fridges without shelves, two working hotplates, and one dishwasher. There was no oven. The advertised table football was out of order, and even when working it would cost extra. The rooms were in mixed condition. The lower floors were up to a good standard, with nice new bathrooms, but the attic had dirty, stained carpets and smelly sanitary facilities. Each person got just one small face towel. On the positive side, the mattresses were new and good throughout. We also couldn’t turn off the heating. The garden was nice, with things for children to use and plenty of parking, but the outdoor seating was far too small for the capacity, with room for about ten people. There was nowhere to store bicycles. We asked the receptionist to put us in touch with the manager or operator, but that went nowhere. They said they couldn’t help. The receptionist was nice, but apparently couldn’t do anything without management’s permission.

A cottage in the Jeseníky Mountains that works well for a bigger group of friends. Trips around the area can be arranged.
