Even if you aren't staying overnight, Petrovy Kameny is one of the best places to stop during a trip to the highest Moravian mountain. It's right on the main route to the summit, which should be your goal when visiting this part of the Jeseníky Mountains. The restaurant is huge, so there's always room to get a hot drink or a full lunch. The staff are kind, and prices are reasonable compared with other chalets.

The price felt out of line with the service. We paid CZK 5,600 (€228) for two nights, and the extra charges added up: parking had to be booked ahead even in summer and cost CZK 600 (€24.5) per day, while the dog fee was CZK 750 (€30.6) per night, which is excessive. Despite the hotel's “pet-friendly” label and hefty dog surcharge, dogs aren't allowed at breakfast, so you'd have to leave yours in the room. It starts howling and disturbs other guests, especially with the poor soundproofing. There was also an unpleasant drain smell right outside, perhaps a seasonal summer issue. The location is excellent, with lovely views and easy access, though the large, classic hotel often feels busy. We had a Deluxe room with a balcony. It had a proper hot shower, coffee machine, lovely balcony view, quality pillows and bedlinen, and heating that worked perfectly. The mattress had noticeable springs but was still comfortable. The minimalist room had some odd, poor design choices. It was nice to have a coffee machine, but only two capsules were provided for the whole stay. The room wasn't cleaned during our two days there. Noise carries a lot. If neighbors play music in the morning or party in the evening, you'll hear it, perhaps more because the surroundings are otherwise so quiet. Breakfast was very good: not a huge variety, but fresh, high-quality ingredients, tasty bread, and decent coffee. For mountains and comfort, we'd recommend Austria instead. It's cheaper, has higher standards, and charges only €5-15 for a dog. One practical thing if you're driving: access up the mountain is controlled. Cars go up once an hour on the hour, and down once an hour at half past.

We were there as a couple from 18th to 19th of June 2025. The bathrooms had been redone and were super clean, but the bed was uncomfortable. The hotel has clearly seen better days. Staff weren't especially friendly, the restaurant was a bit of a disappointment, and using the wellness area cost extra. I really wouldn't recommend staying here. You could stay in one of the towns below the mountain and hike up for the view instead.

The restaurant service was very pleasant. The frustrating part is that you can't leave a tip by card. The owners could do something about it.

The location is great, and the price seems fair for it. In winter, though, you have to walk 20 minutes to reach the hotel. The rooms are okay, breakfast buffet is sufficient, and the wellness area is small but enjoyable.
