Royal Kurhotel

The spa staff were true professionals, and I really enjoyed their massages, which were affordably priced. We stayed four nights in this nice hotel. Our room was comfortable enough and had an amazing city view, though the mattress was too firm for my taste. Getting around inside was confusing. The old building has been expanded over the years, and the layout feels like a labyrinth in places, especially when trying to reach the pool or spa from your room. For all four days, we couldn't choose our breakfast table and were seated behind a column, without the morning view outside. The buffet wasn't replenished even an hour before breakfast ended. For a four-star hotel with the awards we'd seen, those details weren't acceptable.

The restaurant and reception staff were really kind and helpful. The spa side was less clear: there were few signs to show where things were, and at times I felt I needed a map. During treatments, there was hardly any explanation of what was happening or what to do afterward. The form about medical conditions felt like a formality, since the staff didn't even take a moment to look it over.

We left early. The hotel felt old and run-down, more like a rehab facility, and the receptionists were indifferent.

The service could be better!
