Swissôtel Marianske Lazne

I stayed at this newly opened Swissôtel and it was better than I expected. The design is modern and clean, and the rooms are comfortable. Staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help. The spa looks beautiful, and I had an amazing massage. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent too. I’m already looking forward to returning.

Restaurant 105 was a real treat, with excellent food whose flavors linger and make you close your eyes happily. Igor and Marcela made us feel like royalty, and Igor’s stories added some magic to dinner. The Swiss Café is worth a visit too: it’s stylish, cozy, and charming, and Iryna serves incredible coffee and desserts that look like little works of art. The spa was blissful. Aneta at reception kept everything running smoothly, and Halyna made my chosen treatment feel like a little slice of heaven. Klára, Václav, and their team were friendly, competent, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we arrived. The hotel is right by the colonnade in the heart of Mariánské Lázně, but it’s wonderfully peaceful. Rooms are spacious, stylish, gorgeous, and comfortable, as if straight from a design magazine. Every part of our stay was a joy, from the staff and rooms to the spa and food. We left feeling pampered and relaxed, already dreaming about coming back. Every moment felt like a little celebration.

The suite and lobby are gorgeous. Our top-floor corner room was bright and roomy, with lovely materials, huge windows, great views and a big bathroom with a tub. The lobby feels like the warm center of the place, right by the Bohemian Bar. But the couch wasn't comfortable for relaxing or watching TV, and the room lights had a mind of their own: they sometimes came on in the middle of the night, and at other times wouldn't turn on at all. We couldn't switch them off properly. We were there for four nights at the end of January, and the hotel still felt unfinished. Several areas were closed, the rooftop wasn't opening until summer, and we could hear hammering. On our last day, the power went out and maintenance staff were all over the lobby, hallways and stairs. The hotel looked lovely, but the final impression was chaotic and not ready to run smoothly. Sleep was rough too. The mattress was too hard, the duvet too small, and the pillows thin and uncomfortable. My request through the pillow menu was mishandled, and we got several pine pillows instead, which made for a very uncomfortable night. The spa looked impressive and had plenty of equipment, but it was a major letdown in practice. The main pool was around 24°C, so cold it was empty and unusable. The exercise pool was only a little warmer and still not warm enough for its intended use. The corridors and salt room were cold as well. The hammam never got properly hot, had no real steam, and was only lukewarm. Staff said it “didn’t work,” even though the spa was brand new. The scrubbing area was inactive and pointless, with no scrubs available. There wasn't a water bucket in the Finnish sauna, so we had to use little glasses. Meals didn't make us want to stay in. The restaurant has cozy, intimate rooms and a pleasant atmosphere, but breakfast was beautifully presented without much freshness, flavor or quality. Lunch and dinner were overpriced, portions were small and the flavors underwhelming, so we ate elsewhere most of the time. Room service was an extra charge, had a tiny menu of things like a tuna sandwich and tortilla, and wasn't available after 10 PM, which was inconvenient in winter. The café is a beautiful space, but it operates separately, so there are no loyalty points. Coffee was inconsistent, pastries average, though the pavlova was excellent. Staff were generally friendly, and the spa team welcoming. Igor stood out in the restaurant for his genuine hospitality and professionalism. We appreciated the suite upgrade, but the attention to detail was lacking. They brought a birthday cake when we arrived, then nothing on the actual day. Parking is free but very small, probably about 20 spaces, and I wonder how it will work when the hotel is full. The lovely hotel made the stay comfortable, but the pool not being fully operational was the biggest disappointment. Paying so much for a cold pool is simply unacceptable, and I won't forget the experience.

The staff made this stay memorable. Everyone we met went out of their way to look after us, and they recognized my All Accor status really well. The design is superb, the restaurant is very good, and the spa is lovely. We'll be back.
