Hotel Hanzel

The room was clean and spacious, and the accommodation itself was fine apart from the missing air conditioning, room refrigerator, and working TV. It was hot, and we missed having cold drinks. There is a small shared refrigerator, but it was very cold, and after a few hours our winery wine still hadn’t cooled. We wanted to spend the evening with wine on the shared terrace since the restaurant has been closed for a long time and food has to be arranged elsewhere. But cars were blocking the terrace, and a large group had taken up most of the space, leaving little room for us. We also paid almost 30% more for wines bought at the winery than they cost on its E-shop. Breakfast was another letdown. It was meager, which we could have accepted, but the open jam had a lot of visible mold around the edges. We found that disgusting. We’re sorry to see a place in Miroslav that we once loved returning to lose so much of its pleasant atmosphere and quality. It seems a different owner ran the hotel years ago, and the quality is much lower now, while the accommodation prices don’t seem low to us. We visited again after a few years, and this was unfortunately our last time.

The food and drinks had plenty of variety, from schnitzels and sirloin steak to seasoned hummus and grilled tofu. We had an excellent wedding lunch, then a barbecue banquet in the evening, and the winery catered for all dietary needs and supplied the beer we chose. The manager and evening staff were very helpful. It was great to have the ceremony, celebration, and guest accommodation all in one place. The renovated winery was lovely, and the new accommodation was spacious and nice, including the sanitary facilities. Our only drawbacks were the somewhat high price and not being able to change the number of meals ordered two weeks before the event. The hotel exceeded our expectations, and we’d recommend the winery for weddings and similar events.

A lovely, relaxing weekend with very good food and nice accommodation. The staff were really helpful, and special thanks to Mrs. Růženka for explaining the wines so knowledgeably during the tasting.

The stay was pleasant, and the service was friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, especially over an excellent dinner and wine tasting. Highly recommend.
