Hotel Podlesí

The rolling green hills and lovely views made a great setting for our two-day corporate event. We needed a place to stay as well as space for presentations and conference sessions, plus catering, and the experience surpassed many of my expectations. Staff were very pleasant, and the manager on duty took time to chat with guests, which helped create a relaxed atmosphere. There were several outdoor activities to choose from, a large pool outside, and a generous breakfast with attention to families. The rooms were spotless and had modern amenities. Someone had clearly put thought into the design, especially the showers. Thanks, and I hope to stay again soon.

I don’t remember many details, but the hotel was really nice overall. It’s a huge, modern place, though it felt expensive for my low budget. The atmosphere is kid friendly. We were disappointed by the complimentary hot tub entry, though: it was full of people we didn’t know, so we didn’t go in.

The food was homemade and really tasty, and the views of Vysocina from the hotel are lovely. It’s a cute, pleasant hotel. Even with the cold rain, it was full of families with children. There isn’t much in the way of indoor facilities, though. The indoor pool is about the size of a Jacuzzi.

The room looked just like the photos, but the rest of our two-night VIP stay was frustrating. The package was described on paper as “Polpenzion,” yet they charged us extra for dinner. One evening was supposed to be a romantic dinner for two, promoted separately on the website. When we asked the server about it, they said it was the same as a normal dinner, with no difference at all. We also couldn’t check in until 16:00, even though check-in starts at 15:00. With checkout at 10:00, it seems they had six hours to get the room ready. The room information and house rules didn’t mention any room service, and they didn’t replace blankets, replenish the minibar, or provide fresh towels. There was hotel renovation work going on, and a hydraulic hammer started at 07:00. People on vacation should be able to relax in peace. The VIP room is their best, but the walls between rooms are just drywall, so you can hear every fart from the neighbors. A little rain also turned the parking area into a mud pool.
