OREA Resort Devět Skal Vysočina

I always enjoy the restaurant. There’s lots to choose from and the food is delicious, plus the staff are friendly and the rooms get cleaned every day. I like the pool and sauna too. Lemon water there would be nice, and it’s a bit of a hassle to cross the hallway to the relaxation room for a drink 🤣 The lake view outside is great. It was half frozen when we arrived, and we could walk in the woods around it. Pool and foosball take 10czk coins, which you can get at reception.

The sauna and relaxation rooms were a real treat, especially the ice pool. Staff across the resort were warm and polite, and there were thoughtful things for kids around reception, like coloring sheets and games. Adults could join yoga and other weekday activities too, and the area nearby made a nice starting point for outings. We came with our two children, ages 7 and 12, and their grandmother. Both kids had a great time. Our younger one said she wanted to stay for a month, and the older one is already asking to holiday at Orea again. There was plenty to keep them busy, from mini golf and the playroom to activities with Eliska the Fox, plus table football, pool and virtual reality for teenagers. The food was very good, with a buffet section where children could serve themselves. Our 12-year-old needs gluten-free food and managed to find suitable choices at breakfast and dinner every night, which was a relief. Desserts for him were panna cotta each day, though, and the gluten-free bread at breakfast wasn't very tasty. A bit more variety there would have been welcome. The pool had toys, balloons and child-friendly accessories, and it felt relaxed and respectful, with around 10-12 children in it at a time. It could use some updating, and a few more seats than the couple provided and the benches would help, though space is limited. The stay is on the expensive side, but we felt it was worth it for a family. Restaurant drinks were also pricey, raspberry lemonade was 95 CZK and a jug of water 70 CZK, though the food and service made up for that. There's a pond nearby for swimming, with paddle boats for rent as well. We loved our visit and plan to come back, perhaps to another Orea location.

Our daughter loved this hotel so much that she cried when it was time to leave. It felt very welcoming for families, even though the kids' room and the wellness area were both being rebuilt during our stay. We want to come back once that work is finished. We skipped the pool because we weren't feeling completely well. From what we could tell, it also needs a refurbishment to bring it in line with the hotel's overall standard.

Free parking was easy: take a ticket when you first arrive, hand it to reception, and you don't need one when you leave. I really enjoyed my stay and love the Vysocian region, with its stunning scenery. The hotel looks out onto a lovely lake, and you can use a paddle board or other boards on the water. The surroundings are quiet, with beautiful nature, and there's plenty for kids of all ages to do and play with. Pets are welcome too. The food was tasty and offered lots of choice, including honey and other organic products from the region. The pool is small and not especially appealing, but it's fine for kids and a bit of fun.
