We’ve stayed at the guest house in the monastery before and always enjoy coming back. This time, over Easter 2026, breakfast was the one problem. When it got busy, the one-hour serving period wasn’t enough: the line was long, we waited 30 minutes, and some guests had to eat on the windowsill. It would help to extend breakfast to at least two hours during busy periods or organize it differently. Otherwise, we were happy again and would gladly return.

The monastery garden in the evening was unforgettable, especially when it was open to guests but locked to the public. The setting is brilliant, and even after four weeks we still had nearby places we wanted to visit. From our room, depending on which cell you stay in, you might look over the countryside, the monastery courtyard, or the garden of paradise, where young local kestrels brighten up summer. This year we also watched young storks gathering on the monastery roofs. The atmosphere is unique, and there’s a real sense of peace, depending a little on how considerate the other guests are. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with a good bed, sink, table and chairs, plus a roomy wardrobe and hanger for longer stays. There’s no air conditioning, thankfully, but the location, greenery, thick stone walls, and casement windows keep things pleasant even in the hottest weather. The shower and toilet are in the hallway, but always clean, tidy, and stocked. After arranging things by phone, check-in was smooth. The reception was friendly, and card payment was available. Breakfast was generous with a consistent selection, but there was enough variety each day to try a different combination. The spreads were excellent, and homemade sweet pastries alternated. There were plenty of vegetables, some fruit, and gluten-free pastries too. Warm greetings to Broumov, see you again soon!

The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was a buffet with a somewhat smaller selection, but you’ll find something to eat. I recommend staying here.
