Soooo cool!
The big communal room is a real advantage, with a practical kitchen and bar. We’ve now celebrated birthdays here twice with 25 guests, and I’d recommend it.
We came away happy with our weekend here as six families, with children aged 2-8. The owners were lovely, and the cottage was clean and tidy, with comfortable beds. The furnishings are older, but that suited us with kids since we didn’t have to worry about scratches or damage. The kitchen was well equipped for us, with 3 fridges, 2 stoves, a dishwasher, and a microwave. The large common room has a fireplace stove, which was already lit when we arrived, a lovely surprise. The garden was a big highlight, with a trampoline, sandpit, swings, climbing frames, and a stunning view across meadows and forests. There’s also a pleasant seating spot by the garden fireplace. The owner arranged fresh pastries from a local bakery for Saturday morning, including donuts, bread, and rolls. The kids could run around while we had breakfast in the sun with a fresh donut, or spent a relaxing evening by the grill or stove. I’d especially recommend it to families with children. Thank you! The negative reviews here were older, from 2020. When we stayed in June 2023, everything was fine.
The friendly staff who look after the cottage are a big plus, as are the views and the option to bring pets. The place is older, and you can see that in the furnishings and comfort level. Still, the price seemed fair for its condition, and we had a good holiday overall.
The cottage looks really nice and has a decent-sized plot, so it seems well suited to a larger group. But the dirt was extreme. I lifted the bag out of the bin and found years of dust and other nasty stuff underneath. Every piece of crockery we took from the shelf was dirty, right at the start of our trip, after the previous group. I wonder whether anyone even checks that the place is at least bearable. The owner lives next door. While walking her dog, she looked in through the windows, then came in without warning and yelled at one of our children, accusing them of throwing the sofa. I’d like to know how a 10-year-old could pick up and throw a sofa. I won’t even get into the owner looking through the cottage windows.
