We came back to the same place after a year, which says plenty. We look forward to returning to Šumava and this guesthouse, where the atmosphere is friendly and the price is reasonable.

The food was excellent, especially if you enjoy Czech cuisine, and the staff were kind and helpful. We had a great week in a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. The rooms were well equipped and clean, and Mr. Karlík gave us a warm welcome. It's one of the best places I've stayed so far, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

The location is handy, with a view of the ski slope, and when there's snow you can set off cross-country skiing straight from the guesthouse. You can also go by bike from there. We love nature and trips, and Vozzyk won us over on our first visit. We keep coming back whenever we can, especially when there's availability, since loyal fans mean it often sells out ahead of time. The owner is quirky but extremely nice and helpful, and will always try to accommodate you. The rooms are a little dated, but clean, with a nostalgic feel that reminds us of school ski trips. No hotel has quite that atmosphere. We love the typically Czech cooking, including dinner with soup, though it may not suit people who don't like Czech cuisine. Breakfast is classic, with pastries, eggs and yogurt. The owner seemed very willing to make something lighter if asked in advance. We haven't needed that, as we've really enjoyed the food. Everyone likes different things, so these are just my impressions.
