The room felt exposed because its windows were level with the inner courtyard, so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. Blinking Christmas lights in August also cast an annoying glow into the room at night. Then, around 2 AM, someone knocked loudly on a door for more than half an hour, and staff did nothing. The staff didn’t speak any English and were rude as well as unfriendly. We managed to leave our luggage at the hotel, using gestures, so we could enjoy our last afternoon in Olomouc. When we returned, no one answered the door, and we had to call their cell number. A woman said someone would come; about half an hour later a man arrived, looked at us, and just stood there. When I explained we wanted our bags, he let out a long, annoyed sigh, opened the door, and pointed to them without saying a word. A horrible experience.

The atrium was lovely, and the staff were friendly. There’s a café and shishabar downstairs, which I enjoyed. The place was super clean too. The furniture could feel a bit more “authentic,” but this is a small pension, not a 5* boutique hotel. I enjoyed my stay.

It’s about a five-minute walk to the center. The room was comfortable, with a modern, clean bathroom and fantastic antique chairs.
