Penzion V Jizdarne

Free parking on site was a big plus for us, and there’s a bus stop nearby. The city center is about a 20-minute walk away. It's a peaceful guesthouse just outside the busy center, with clean rooms and breakfast that was perfectly fine for a short stay. A nice, quiet place in Olomouc.

This might work as a budget option, but I wouldn't choose it if you want a nice, clean room. There was dust on the floor, and when we moved the adjustable sofa, we found tons more underneath. The fridge only works when you have a card in the card slot. I also saw a lepisma saccharina on the bathroom floor, and the room didn't feel properly cleaned. The guesthouse is next to a main road, with the road about 2-3 meters from the door. The rooms aren't soundproofed, so you can hear voices from next door. You can only hope they don't turn on music or the TV.

I stayed here for a few months, and the customer service was incredibly disappointing. Items, including money, went missing from the room, and the laundry service regularly lost clothes. The rooms were constantly filthy, and sometimes the towels were forgotten. Then I had to track someone down to get replacements, which was hard when the front desk wouldn't answer the door.

This was one of the worst places we've ever stayed. I rarely take the time to write a negative review, but after a long work placement here, I feel I have to. The rooms were dirty, and things went missing from them. On weekends, they hosted weddings and horse festivals with loud noise blaring until 4 in the morning, and didn't seem to care if guests wanted quiet. The front office staff were rude, shady, and so unhelpful that Sylvia wouldn't help when a coworker got locked out of his room. She said she'd come back at 23:00, but didn't, so he had to sleep elsewhere for a night. I suspect the main girl was a heroin addict. The restaurant food, juices, salad dressings, and other things seemed to have water added to them. The cleaning ladies brought their kids to work, left dust behind and barely cleaned. They broke my laptop, took old towels without leaving new ones, and we had to chase them for replacements. We were patient and didn't complain much at first, but the experience was still awful.
