The guesthouse is near the tram, with good connections to the center and Svinov train station. But the room furnishings are old, and the cleaning wasn’t very good. Street reconstruction made the room incredibly noisy, even on the weekend. The price for what you get felt poor, though during Colors, I guess you can’t expect very favorable rates.

The staff were very nice, but the room itself was disappointing. There wasn’t a cupboard or even a trash can, the bathtub kept clogging, and the bathroom tap was broken. Hot water took a while to come through and ran out quickly. I’d have liked the room to be tidier too.

I’ve never had worse accommodation. The room looked nothing like the photos and smelled awful, like a sewer, with the odor coming from the bathroom. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut, and the room wasn’t cleaned at all during my stay. The bed was terrible, with the strings pressing into my back. Dirt and smell everywhere.

The website promises newly renovated, spacious rooms and apartments with superior equipment, everything needed for a peaceful stay near the centre of Ostrava. I expected nothing fancy, but the restaurant list could use an update after ten years. The reality was nowhere near the promise. They put me in a hostel for tradesmen. That’s fine, we need each other, but it’s not what you expect when you come to relax, especially with doors slamming from 5:00 in the morning. I complained, and Mr. Vašek said he was sorry I wasn’t satisfied, but offered no compensation. I’m not sorry, I’m angry that he’s lying. I also very much doubt he charges companies the same price as vacationers. Compare my photos with the ones on the website.
