Penzion Relax Ostrava

It was neither good nor bad.

The one real advantage was the gated parking. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this place for a business trip. It felt overpriced at 1870 CZK, given what you get: a small, dim room, thin walls, and doors that let light through around the edges. The room faced a noisy road, and the stairs up were steep. Breakfast was brought to the room, probably because there are no tables or dining room. What bothered me most was that it also operates as an HOUR HOTEL. The loud screams and sighs coming from another room during the day made that clear, and later a young couple left their room in the afternoon.

The staff were pleasant, and our room, number 13, was clean with no cigarette smell, despite that complaint in some reviews. I hesitated after reading them, but ratings were split between Booking and here, so I took a chance. We paid 2100 for a 12-hour stay. At that price, I'd have expected the minibar wine and beer to cost a bit less than in a shop, though it wasn't a huge problem. For me, the stay was otherwise perfect. I don't understand the negative reviews, unless those guests had some kind of disagreement.

The TV and minibar both failed, and when we raised it, the owners made excuses. It presents itself as a place to relax, but you can even hear fingers snapping. When they "rebell" and realize you know what you're talking about, they agree with you. Never again. Don't come here if you don't want your holiday ruined!
