The breakfast is basic, but it was enough to get the day started. We had a roomy place to stay, free parking, and tourist maps were available too. The guesthouse sits right by the old town, so we could walk to the cathedral, brewery, stadium, and other main sights without trouble. The staff were friendly.
I went to Pension Groll three times during my 10-day stay in August 2019, hoping to try a freshly tapped beer from another microbrewery. Each time the place was shut up, despite a huge “Open” sign at the corner. It looked as though the guesthouse, restaurant, and microbrewery were all out of operation. A real shame. I can’t fairly give it even one star, but the site required me to select one to post.
We only needed a bed for one night in Pilsen, and this guesthouse was my favorite of the places we considered. Booking by phone was easy, and we paid when we arrived. There’s free parking on site, and breakfast was included in the price. The building is lovely, with an outdoor terrace, and the place looked great at first sight. A friendly, smiling woman at reception even let us keep the room until the following afternoon. I especially recommend the Markéta room, with its double bed and bathtub. Clean, beautiful, and a great price. We were very happy with our stay.
There isn’t much to do here. It’s really just somewhere to sleep for the night.
