Lovas & lovas pension

The relaxed atmosphere and kind staff made this place a pleasure, and the food was delicious. We had the pork and duck with roasted potatoes, both excellent. The Czech red wine was good, and the dessert was large enough to share. As a tourist, I found it a hidden gem. I highly recommend it for both the food and service.

The owner made our weekend especially relaxing, and the staff handled every request without hesitation. The food was creative, delicious, and prepared to a really high standard; special requests were no problem. It’s a clean, comfortable family pension with everything needed for an overnight stay, about a 10-minute walk from the main promenade. We’ll definitely be back soon.

The roast veal starter and beef neck main were both incredible. I’d read good reviews and walked quite a long way to try the place, but I was unsure at first: the decor looked dated, it was empty on a Wednesday evening, and the drink selection was simple. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, though. Don’t judge the book by its cover!

I’d love to go back. The beet and cream and mushroom velouté were excellent, and the beef vývar was clear but had a real beef flavor. The chicken stuffed with ricotta and dried tomato went well with the flattened potatoes, and the pork with rosemary was delicious with spinach done just right. The salmon salad was tasty, though it had so much dressing that it swamped the well-cooked fish. The wait staff were lovely and tried to help, even arranging a personal translation though my Czech is more than acceptable.
