Pension Rondel

We were a group of two adults and three children, staying four nights in a large apartment. The place itself was nice, clean and comfortable, and most of our stay was peaceful. The receptionist even told us the children had been quiet and well behaved. We kept them close when others were using the pool, and they didn’t run or scream. Still, the welcome was awkward. The children’s ages were included in the booking, which the guesthouse confirmed, but on arrival the woman who checked us in said they supposedly didn’t take children. Later she told us to keep them quiet and not to mention aloud that the pool water was salty because it might bother the older guests. My friend called the owner that day and was told everything was fine. Breakfast brought more of the same. One morning there was no juice, and we were simply told to pour water, without an apology. On our last morning, the same woman shouted at the children to be quiet when they asked softly what was for breakfast, then again said the guesthouse didn’t accept children. If that’s the policy, whoever confirms bookings should read them and tell families in advance. That last breakfast left a bad impression. I found her behavior tactless and unprofessional, and we wouldn’t stay here again.

The guesthouse is in a quiet spot, just a short walk from the center, and the garden is a lovely place to sit. Our room was very clean and attractive. Breakfast was generous and really tasty, and the woman serving us was pleasant to talk with. We’d happily come back and definitely recommend it.

Right in the heart of Poděbrady, this was a wonderful place to stay. The owner was helpful and flexible, and the room had everything we needed. It was spacious too, so we’ll definitely return.

We were in Room No. 2, a double room where an extra bed could be added. A small kitchen area in the hall had a fridge, microwave, kettle and basic dishes for three. Everything had been made ready beautifully, and it was clean and fresh. Towels and bath towels were provided in the bathroom. The guesthouse is central but sits on a quiet side street. The colonnade, castle, restaurants, museums and the Elbe were all close by, and parking was available at the house. Thanks for a lovely stay, including the whirlpool bath, breakfast arrangements and friendly conversation. We’ll come again 🙂
