Penzion Alfa Podebrady

I had a lovely weekend in Poděbrady with the girls. I got to stay alone in the center for a good price, with breakfast included. Everything was close, parking was provided, and there were lots of places to walk, get coffee and 🍰. I really enjoyed it. 🙏🍀

A pleasant guesthouse right by the park, with the flower clocks nearby and lots of restaurants and cafes around. We can only recommend it, especially with the wellness.

We’re here for the third time and are happy with our stay. It’s a nice guesthouse on the main promenade, with a good breakfast. Treatments are available, and parking can be arranged on request.

Booking through the portal meant entering a card, which is normal. But the guesthouse kept saying my card was “problematic” or “blocked.” I tried a virtual card and got the same result. That same day I made an online purchase and booked another guesthouse with my debit card without any trouble, so the problem clearly wasn’t on my end. Instead of looking for a technical fix, they kept saying they were “sorry that I had problems with my card” and pushed me to pay by bank transfer in advance, which goes against the booking portal’s terms. When I said the issue seemed to be with their system, they called me a “rude woman” and said they didn’t want guests like me. I find that completely inappropriate and unprofessional. It was also very hard to communicate with one person, who clearly didn’t speak Czech well enough to handle reservations. I travel around the country for work and regularly use accommodation services, and I’ve never had an experience like this.
