4 Elements Apartments

We stayed May 1-4, 2025, and came away disappointed. The listing showed Masná 20 in central Prague, with pictures of a bright, spacious, modern apartment and amenities including a dishwasher, coffee machine, washing machine and iron. Instead, we were sent to Pietrská 7, about 15 minutes from the center in a less attractive area. The apartment there was tiny, dark, poorly equipped and nothing like the photos. It had no dishwasher, coffee machine or washing machine, and hardly any space. I believe this is a bait-and-switch: the owner uses photos and reviews for the nicer Masná 20 apartment, then sends guests to a different place while charging the premium central price. The 1-4 May stay was one of my worst booking experiences. The listing should show the real address and actual apartment photos, and Booking.com should take it down or require that information. Don't trust it. You'll pay for something you don't get. Total scam, avoid at all costs.

Contactless check-in was a highlight. The email instructions were clear and specific, and everything worked promptly without a call or follow-up. The apartment was clean, very well maintained and comfortable, so the stay went smoothly. It was a 12-minute walk from the train station, or a five-minute drive. The kitchen had plenty for four, though there were just two of us: coffee maker, stove, oven, fridge, kettle and microwave. There was a big bed with room for three, plenty of towels, body and hair wash, lotion, toilet rolls and kitchen rolls. A fan and heating system were there too, though we didn't need either.

The pictures didn't match reality, and there was pubic hair in the bathtub. The entrance was shabby and hard to find. We couldn't take a taxi right to it because the streets were pedestrian-only, so we had to drag our suitcases, then carry them up to the second floor. Despite being advertised, there was no elevator. We weren't told we'd need to collect keys at another location. When we got there, we were told there were no rooms left at the first location and sent to a different address. At checkout, I was told to leave the key inside and shut the door. I did, then found the downstairs main door was locked and needed that key to open. I was stuck in the entrance hall for 20 minutes, in the smell of garbage being collected, waiting for the housekeeper to let me out. I was late for work. Avoid this place. These people don't know what they're doing.

The apartment was in great condition and made a handy base for exploring the city. Our studio had a double bed, a single bed, a small kitchen and a new bathroom. It was easy to check in, and the location was excellent and walkable. Two adults and one child stayed, and we were happy with it.
