a&o Prague Metro Strizkov

Our windows looked out onto the highway, so we had to keep them shut at night to block the noise. The TV didn't work, and the beds squeaked a little, with the mattresses sliding around on the frames. Still, the double room was excellent value. It was clean, towels and sheets were included, the beds were comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked superbly everywhere. I also appreciated the COVID-19 precautions. Breakfast was great, with cheese, ham, eggs, yogurt, cereal and fresh bread. The hostel is about a 10-minute walk from Střížkov metro station.

The room was spacious and bright, perhaps with a little too much space, and the layout worked well. We had booked a twin room but were given a four-person room, and nobody else joined us. It was on the 12th floor with an amazing city view, plus a table and chairs by the windows where breakfast was lovely. The windows don't open all the way. The shower was roomy, with good water pressure. Breakfast downstairs had plenty of variety and was well stocked, for only 4€. The hostel was easy to find from the nearest station. The night staff member who checked us in had a foul attitude and was unfriendly, and we were glad we didn't need to speak with her again. I'd stay here again if I didn't dislike the city so much. Hopefully the other A&O hostels have been refurbished too.

We hardly slept because the people upstairs were really loud for most of the night. I expected the staff to deal with it, and they didn't, which I think was a mistake. Apart from that, the room was very nice and clean, with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Everything else was fine and easy.

The breakfast could use more choices, and the coffee could be better, but there was plenty of food for the price. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and my modestly furnished room was clean and nicely renovated. This hotel really helped make my trip to Prague great. I'd definitely recommend it for good value.
