Archibald At the Charles Bridge

The room felt cozy, almost like being a guest in someone's beautiful home, and it was huge with a very nice bridge view. It was perfectly clean, and I found no bedbugs. The receptionist was friendly and professional. Breakfast was simple but had a bit of everything. I prefer sweet breakfasts, so the savory options were less appealing to me. I highly recommend this hotel in Prague.

The room was large and very clean, with excellent cleaning staff, plus a roomy bathroom and a corner bath with a shower. Check-in was smooth and the reception staff were excellent. Breakfast came with the room and was fine. The hotel is brilliantly placed near Charles Bridge, Lennon Wall, and the waterwheel. It's on Kampa, which used to be a sandbar that was stabilized. Plenty of good coffee shops and restaurants are nearby.

Although it was right in the center, the area around the hotel was quiet. The rooms were well furnished and quite clean. Staff were attentive and helpful, and the breakfast and coffee selection was satisfactory.

I woke up with fresh blood stains all over the sheets and two crushed bedbugs. I found bedbugs in the bed, and there were old greyish marks on the bedding too, likely dried blood that turns grey after being washed at high temperatures. It was an absolute horror. I'm certain the problem was there before my stay, and it's very likely other rooms are affected as well. Another guest who stayed about a week earlier described exactly the same problem in their review. At reception they said nothing like this had ever happened at the hotel. That was a complete lie. When I got home I counted around 120 bites all over my body, and I'm having a very strong allergic reaction. I really hope I didn't bring this nightmare home with me. I contacted the hotel, but they wouldn't give me a full refund, only 30%, which is a joke. Now they've stopped replying altogether. This hotel should be closed for a full sanitation!
