Aria Hotel Prague

The rooftop restaurant serves delicious food, and the view over Prague and the Castle is great. In Mala Strana, this is one of the best places to stay, with lovely design and attention to detail. The glass ceiling in the shared living room is beautiful.

We loved the hotel’s musical design and classical atmosphere, and the premium meal the hotel gave us at Coda was unforgettable. We also had an amazingly well-organized day hike from the hotel to the Saxon-Czech area, which I’d highly recommend. The concierge team and reception were quick, professional and helpful with our questions. Henry especially showed real care for the hotel and its guests. The room looked out onto beautiful Vrtba Garden, and we had free access to it. Even though the hotel is close to Charles Bridge and Prague’s castle, the room was quiet. We could walk easily to all the attractions, and there were plenty of excellent restaurants and bars nearby at any hour. The location, cleanliness and quiet made it very good value, and we’re glad we chose it for our vacation. The breakfast fell well short of what we expected from a five-star hotel. The selection and quantity were consistently poor: just a glass of vegetables and very small portions of cheese and salmon each day. The buffet bread was always dry, and pancakes ordered without syrup were dry and dreadful. Breakfast service varied. For the first two or three days, an unfriendly woman made everyone nervous; on the other days the atmosphere was lighter and most of the staff were very kind. Tom, whom we also met at Coda, made things smooth and calm. He made our birthday breakfast much better and made us very happy. Thank you, Tom! A few other things could be improved. The room didn’t have enough lights. The high-speed charging sockets were near the floor and only worked with the light on, so we had to charge our phone on the floor with the light on. We were told the air conditioning couldn’t cool the room, and some nights it was a bit warm. We were also told the odor extraction fan had been switched off because someone on a higher floor hated fans. Toilet smells were unpleasant at times, and we couldn’t control them. The internet often froze while we watched movies, though it became smooth again after a couple of minutes, so it was bearable. The document listing charges at checkout was extremely hard to understand, and some staff spoke limited English, leading to slight miscommunications.

The owners were there every day, working hard to make sure guests had an outstanding experience. My wife Carole Lucas and I have just spent a month at Aria Hotel, and it was the most enjoyable hotel stay we’ve ever had. We’re both retired, seasoned travelers, and have stayed in hotels around the world for 60 years. A friend who has lived in Prague all his life recommended it to us. The hotel is professionally run: the front desk couldn’t do enough for us, the concierge team was knowledgeable and always ready to help plan the day, and the morning breakfast was sensational, usually included in the room price. The wait staff were incredible. I highly recommend this hotel. It’s in an outstanding spot, literally around the corner from Charles Bridge.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, with made-to-order options alongside the buffet and included in the stay. We spent four nights here, with landmarks, restaurants and public transport all close by.
