The place felt gloomy, like a former sanatorium, and I’d tell anyone concerned about their health to stay away. There were dead and live insects on the floor, the sheets were dirty and full of hair, and there were no curtains. Cigarette butts were scattered outside the window. The bathrooms are best left unmentioned. Better to walk a little farther from the train station and find a decent hostel.

I had a miserable night here. The place smelled odd, and I sometimes saw older men walking around in their underwear. It felt like an old hospital. The rooms were dirty, with plastic, cigarette butts, and paper on the floor, and you could hear almost everything from other rooms. The heat didn’t work, which is a real problem in cold Prague. The beds and bedding were uncomfortable and not very clean, and there were no towels or toilet paper. Internet was available in the corridors, but the signal in the bedrooms was very weak. Sometimes a cheap stay ends up costing too much. I’d go somewhere else and pay more for a decent night, which I didn’t get here.

It was very cheap, so even with the downsides I thought the value was pretty good. The rooms have just one power outlet, though you can buy a splitter at the market across the road for around 5 euros. They don’t provide towels, so bring your own. It’s close to the town center, train station, and bus station, with a tram stop nearby if walking is difficult or you’d rather not walk. They ask you to fill out a somewhat disturbing survey at the start. I used my real email but a fake door address, and afterward I started getting strange spam emails with viruses. Don’t put real information on that form!

The reception staff were really friendly and spoke English. Wi-Fi was only available on the first floor, though, not in each room. There’s no air conditioning, but it wasn’t too hot. The shared toilets, shower cubicles, and kitchen were useful, and the price was very reasonable. We paid €64 for two days for two people. The location was great too, about 8-10 minutes from the station and a 10-minute fast walk to Prague’s famous Charles Bridge.
