EA Hotel Royal Esprit

The room was a good size, and the hotel is in a very good location. But construction in front made coming and going difficult. The towels were very old and really need replacing throughout the hotel. The TV was more like a 27-inch monitor, and it was hard to hear what was being said. The woman at reception needs a lot of training in welcoming guests. To me, this is a 3-star hotel, definitely not 4-star.

Nice rooms, a good breakfast, and a central Prague location. But this was unacceptable: during the day, a receptionist was wrapped in a blanket watching a video with his feet on the couch. He didn’t even notice us leaving. Not a hello or anything. Very disappointing.

We were there for six nights and would happily come back. Breakfast was tasty, with a little variety from one day to the next, and the staff stayed kind and helpful. We also appreciated how quiet it was outside. Check-in was quick, with no wait, and the receptionist was friendly, welcoming, and easy to understand. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable after long days out, and the bathroom felt modern and pleasant. One thing to keep in mind: after heavy rain, the shower drain struggled, probably because of the general drainage system. Apart from that, it was a very good stay for my girlfriend and me.

We lost half a day of our trip over this. Even though our reservation was confirmed, reception initially refused to check us in, citing an elevator problem. Staff later admitted they’d known about it since that morning. They were rude and pushed us toward a distant, poor alternative hotel. We came back and stayed at EA Esprit Royal Hotel that same night, carrying our luggage upstairs. That made the original refusal even harder to accept. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
