Family Lorenz & Coffee House

The tram stop is right across the street and connects to the whole city, with Prague’s excellent public transport. The location is almost central and close to historical sights. Our place was warm and cosy, and perfect for a family trip. Kim, the host, was a very warm and pleasant man, helpful and always available. We’ll definitely visit again.

We stayed with Family Lorentz for six nights and had a wonderful time. They were happy to accommodate our bike and helped us find our way around Prague. It’s convenient for getting downtown, and even better for exploring the interesting neighborhoods around Vinohrady. We’ll come back next time we’re in Prague. We stayed for a week with my family and really enjoyed this cosy place. It’s easy to get to the historic districts, the kitchen is handy for making our own food, and the Cafe downstairs has different drinks and snacks. The staff were warm-hearted. There’s no lift, but they can help with luggage. Nothing to complain about, highly recommended!

I booked this mainly to stay near friends, and because it showed up on Booking.com as pet-friendly. The room was basic and not very welcoming. On arrival, the host asked us to take off the spare bedding and put it aside, which seemed odd. Around 10 the next morning, he banged hard on my door and said I had an hour to leave because I had a dog. He accused me of sneaking her in after he watched the cameras. She's a small rescue, scared of people, and I carry her in a bag. We had to leave and moved to a five-star hotel overlooking Charles Bridge, which was €10 less per night. Later the host said he'd help, but wouldn't accept the cancellation, so I got no refund for the nights we had left. A really disappointing, unpleasant stay.
