Hotel General Old Town Prague

For $80, it was even nicer than the photos suggested. The rooms were beautiful and had all the luxuries, and arriving and leaving were simple. A real gem near the river, and a must-stay in Prague.

Breakfast was the highlight for me: the range, taste, quality, presentation, and attentive service were unlike anything I've experienced at a hotel. It made us feel like royalty. Having cash ready to pay for it at checkout may make things quicker and easier. Our room was beautiful, with decor I loved, a very comfortable bed, and a lovely new bathroom. The staff were top notch, friendly, and helpful. They arranged a transfer whenever we needed one and kept in touch by call and text, which was convenient. We enjoyed our stay so much that we wished we could have stayed a few more days. I can't wait to return to this charming, unique hotel.

The one drawback was the distance from the main center, where most attractions are. Walking there takes about 40 minutes, though public transport is easy to reach and helps. The area itself is quiet and pleasant. We found the hotel excellent value compared with others in Prague, with impeccably clean facilities and cozy, well-equipped rooms. We especially appreciated the coffee machine and kettle. The design is beautiful, and every staff member was welcoming, professional, and exceptionally friendly. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to travelers who care about comfort, style, and service and don't mind being farther from the tourist spots.

The rooms were delightful and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. The woman who welcomed us was a trainee, and missed a couple of basic things: our luggage, which we'd left earlier, wasn't brought up until we asked, and we had to remind them about the included bottle of Prosecco. Apart from those slips, the service was impeccable and I'd readily recommend the place. As a bonus, it's just around the corner from the Staropramen brewery.
