Hotel Golf Depandance

We were there for over a week and were very happy with the stay. The reception team was especially kind. Mr. Rosťa was so helpful and welcoming, and his advice meant a lot since it was our first time in Prague. The rooms are nicely laid out, breakfast is generous and tasty, and the staff are friendly and professional. We felt welcome throughout and would gladly return. Thanks for making the visit so pleasant and memorable.

Reception came through for us again at the end, with the lady and gentleman offering a small choice of drinks for us to enjoy in the lobby or our room. The room was small but pleasant and clean, and it was easy to get into the city from this location. We were welcomed warmly despite arriving late for our long weekend. The bar was a different story. When we went to use our welcome drink, one employee barely greeted us while another ate dinner at the bar and chatted loudly with coworkers. The drink was served with a bad attitude, and they wouldn't let us swap it for water or a soft drink, which was disappointing. Later, the waitresses ignored us completely, so we skipped the second drink. We tried giving the bar another chance for my husband's birthday, but the hours had changed at short notice without this being clear. After we paused for a couple of minutes to decide, the menu was taken away with, "We're closing now." We were nearly snapped at again and left. It's a shame the day ended that way. Anyone can have a bad day, but I can't recommend this bar.

The room was nice, breakfast was fresh with plenty of choice, and everything else during the stay went smoothly. The exception was the chubby male receptionist. He was never polite in his replies, sometimes answered in a teasing way, and didn't seem to know how to deal with customers. My emails asking for information got no response. We weren't given directions to the hotel, and the entrance wasn't properly marked, especially for arriving at night. At first they mixed up my bookings and assigned the wrong room. When the door opened, someone else was inside. They corrected it themselves, but check-in took a while to sort out after an exhausting journey. That reception experience was unpleasant.

The noise kept me from sleeping well, which is why I can only rate the stay three stars. Doors slam early in the morning, and with rooms opening straight off the entrance instead of a proper corridor, you can hear neighboring guests clearly. I'm a light sleeper, so this was disruptive. Everything else was very good. The hotel was exceptionally clean, with spotless sheets and shower. I appreciated the housekeeping label saying the room had been disinfected, which gave me extra peace of mind. The food was excellent, service was very good, and I had no complaints about those things. It's also only a few minutes' walk from the train station, making the city center easy to reach. If management could address the noise, I'd gladly give it five stars.
