Hotel Harfa

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL I've never had worse treatment from hotel staff, and this needs explaining. When we arrived, the garage gate was shut. I went to reception and told the clerk, a man around 50 to 60, that we had just arrived and needed him to open the gate so we could park and check in. The garage had been booked in advance. He asked for my room number, even though I hadn't checked in yet. Since he barely spoke or understood English, he freaked out, shouted at me, and punched the desk, talking nonsense as though I was the one who couldn't understand. It took a while to get this basic request across, but eventually we were let into the garage. We went in for check-in still stunned by his rudeness. He couldn't operate the credit card machine either. When I showed him the card to pay, he hit the desk again. We had to wait and pay the next day. We thought about switching hotels, but it was already late and high season, so finding another place at the last minute seemed like too much hassle despite how disappointed we were. We gave the hotel another chance the next day. The other receptionist wasn't clearly rude, but he didn't greet us or even manage a simple smile. After we paid and mentioned the trouble communicating about the garage the day before, he showed no interest or concern in what had happened. I've never been treated so badly for no reason. Totally unacceptable. The staff seem unprepared and unbalanced, and basic training is clearly lacking.

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The place and the rooms were dirty, disgusting, and falling apart. Reception had a bad attitude, and staff never dealt with the problems we raised. The TV was broken, there was no hot water for a shower, mold in the bathroom, no fridge, and the internet was bad. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here. It wasn't worth a penny.

The staff were polite and nice, though only one or two spoke English, and they could be a bit quicker. Breakfast was okay for the price. There's parking at the back of the building, and internet is free, but the connection isn't great. It's an unusual kind of hotel set in an apartment building. The rooms are decorated quite nicely and furnished with new, practical pieces.

Very clean and comfortable, and close to the 02 arena. At 50Eur a night, it was good value for money.
