Maestro by Adrez

The room itself was in rough shape: hair in the shower, dirty grout, bathroom doors swollen, a mattress sagging over broken springs, and a pillow that was much too big and uncomfortable. There wasn’t a proper reception either, only a luggage room, so getting help felt uncertain. We only stayed one night at Hotel Maestro in Prague, and that was plenty. Room 315 was opposite a restaurant exhaust fan, and the fried-food smell filled both the room and the corridor. We couldn’t stay there, so we asked to switch. They moved us to room 405 on the top floor, which meant packing up and changing elevators, but it had no real windows, just small high openings with daylight and no view. There was also a steady humming noise, probably from the air conditioning unit above, and we could hear every word from the poorly insulated connecting room next door. It was a really unpleasant stay, well below what we expected. I wouldn’t recommend it.

At 9 a.m., someone opened the door and then left. I wrote to them on WeChat and got an apology and a thank-you for understanding, though I didn’t understand the situation. The online check-in is inconvenient too. If someone knows your password, it could be stolen. Security feels vulnerable.

The pillows were covered in hair and dust, and the bedding was filthy. I travel a lot and have never seen linen this dirty. It almost looked as if someone had deliberately dusted the fabric. I could have overlooked a couple of hairs, since that can happen, but this was far beyond that. I’ve stayed here many times, back when it was called Sovereign hotel, and never had a problem. Maybe the new owners are cutting corners. I don’t usually write reviews, but the condition of the bed at Maestro hotel Adrez living made me do it. With no reception to complain to, I just sat down and wrote this feedback. I doubt I’ll sleep well tonight, but luckily I leave tomorrow and won’t be back.

The room itself was fine, and they did offer to move us, but by then it was late and we’d unpacked. We stayed three nights and were really disappointed to find the bed sheets had a huge, disgusting stain and the duvet was covered in dirty marks when we checked in. There was also half an eaten sandwich left in the fridge. We called for fresh sheets and waited over an hour, even though it was only 9:30pm. With no reception or housekeeping available, we had to change them ourselves once they arrived. The lift is old and wobbly too. I’d take the stairs, since I wouldn’t be surprised if it broke. Probably wouldn’t stay again.
