Hotel Pawlovnia

The room furniture is old and worn. I don't mind that much, but the mattress left my back hurting. Internet is available in every room, though the signal is poor and it runs so slowly that it's basically unusable if anyone else is online. They say airport transfers are offered, but all they do is call a taxi. The restaurant is decent, but the menu gives the impression of more choice than there is: they can prepare only three or four dishes. The portions are generous, at least, so you'll get a decent meal if you eat there. There's very little nearby. For local shops or restaurants, you need to go to Zenklova street, which may be a bit of a walk. The location is fine for getting elsewhere, though. Staff were willing to help with whatever we needed, but they speak almost no English. Breakfast was nice, yet the person on reception also does the cooking, so quality can vary. They can be slow to replace missing items, and breakfast may take a while. Rooms were clean, and fresh towels are available daily if you need them. We didn't try the pool, but it looked nice. I've stayed at other three-star hotels, and this one isn't worth the price. It should cost at least 30% less.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and we liked the breakfast. Having an indoor pool was especially nice during the heatwave. The city center isn't close, it's about 35 minutes by tram. We took a taxi instead, which was an easy 10-minute ride and cost between 12€ and 20€.

I don't usually give fewer than four stars, but I have to say the room was right beside the street. With the windows open, you hear cars every second. Sorry, I can't recommend it.

A pleasant stay for the price, though nothing fancy. The restaurant serves some local dishes alongside ordinary breakfast food like bacon, eggs, and bread. I wouldn't recommend the pool. I'd recommend the place otherwise.
