Hotel Relax Inn

The only thing going for this place is the bus stop nearby, which gets you to the metro. We spent four nights there in November, and I found it one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. The carpets were sticky, and the place had a Bates Motel feel. Dirty cups were left for three days, with no fresh tea or coffee supplies, milk, or sugar. Noise from the room next door kept us up for two nights, and the corridors were loud into the early hours. It needs a complete renovation. It’s nowhere near the three or four stars it claims.

The breakfast was great, and the staff were really kind. There are three bus stops nearby, and the room was relaxing :) I don’t know where the bad reviews come from, except maybe the peeling walls.

It’s a long way from the city centre, though it was handy for the concert we went to at O2 arena. Breakfast was quite good, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The price was below average, so we could live with the condition of the room: the stained wallpaper and carpet, worn corridors, and walls that needed repainting. The main lobby was nice and looked after, but I wouldn’t rate the hotel four stars. Two at most.

We left a day early, and I wouldn’t stay here again. The lobby seemed reasonably cared for, but the rooms were shabby and unpleasant. The beds were uncomfortable, the rooms smelled, and everything felt damp. In summer they get very hot, and with no air conditioning, opening the window is the only way to cool things down. But the windows are right above the spot where people smoke.
